wow…people sure hаνе ѕοmе strong opinions! I thіnk many people misunderstood thаt i wаѕ asking аbουt a mattress PAD. At 10 months, hе IS capable οf rolling over, sitting up οr even turning hіѕ head. I’m pretty sure mу 27 lb baby wont sink tοο far іntο a 1 1/2 inch pad. AND anyone whο hаѕ οr hаѕ seen one knows thаt thеу аrе very firm. whеn I аѕkеԁ thіѕ qυеѕtіοn, I wаѕ hoping tο ɡеt аnѕwеrѕ frοm people whο саn read аnԁ comprehend, οr hаνе knowledge οf thе product. thanks tο those οf уου whο tried tο bе helpful. ɡοοԁ luck wіth уουr nеw baby ericka k. I hope уου ɡеt a boy (4 sons/1- 14 year οƖԁ daughter)thеу аrе аƖƖ thе fun wіth half thе hytserics…lol. ps hаԁ tο pick baby 1 аѕ best, bесаυѕе іt wаѕ thе dumbest аnѕwеr given…peace аnԁ long life, аƖƖ.

  1. Why in the heck would you want a memory foam pad for an infant? Are you insane? Just get a regular mattress, GEeeesh

  3. i would just use a normal mattress if he is perfectly healthy. I think memory mattresses are reall only ment for people with back problems. Dont worry about it. My 2 year old has a mattress from Toys r us, and she is perfectly happy with it!

  4. I don’t know why not.As long and it is right up against the inside of the crib bars I see no problem with it. Thats what u have to look out for…So the child can’t get caught inbetween the bars and the mattress.Good luck.

  5. NO!!! Babies cannot sleep with soft, squishy things. They can suffocate from it.

  6. Yes, just make sure that you lay the baby on it’s back because it could sufficate if you lay it face down. Later Bra. P.S. (you can find a really good deal on brand new mattresses at eBay

  7. This is a very bad idea. Even though the baby is technically out of the SIDS range when a child or even an adult is on one of those pads they can suffocate if laying on their stomach. Keep a regular crib mattress and wait until he is old enough for a big boy bed for a different mattress. Good Luck!

  8. I would ask my doctor and dont put one in unless you know its safe

  9. it is not safe. use a regular mattress. besides, even if it were safe, what in the world does a 10 month old need a memory foam mattress for anyway?

    - bored silly - March 22, 2010 at 11:05 pm
  10. thats probably not very safe because if he rolls over, his face will sink down into the mattress and he might not be able to breath where as a stiff mattress will hold his head up so he wont suffocate. I know chances are slim, but do you really want to take that risk?

  11. I would not! Infants are supposed to have a FIRM sleep surface and memory foam is too cushy and gives too much. I think it would be a SIDS risk.

  12. no way.

  13. I wouldn’t think so because a crib mattress is supposed to be pretty rigid,to ensure that the baby doesn’t sink into it and smother themselves.

    - girlqueen - March 23, 2010 at 1:16 am
  14. You won’t find one for a crib, because they are not for cribs. SIDS can happen at any age, especially within the first year. Perfectly healthy babies die of it every single year.
